Civil Construction Superintendent will work closely with the Construction Manager, Project Managers, Foreman, Operators, and other support staff to ensure that all work is performed safely, correctly, and timely. Supervise all field personnel and maintain a high quality of construction. The position requires the exercise of discretion, decision making and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• The Civil Construction Superintendent will work closely with the Construction Manager, Project Managers, Foreman, Operators, and other support staff to ensure that all work is performed safely, correctly, and timely

• Supervise all field personnel and maintain a high quality of construction

• The position requires the exercise of discretion, decision making and independent judgment

• This individual will represent Five-S throughout the Southern United States with primary responsibilities in South Louisiana and Texas Territory

• Attend and provide input in pre-construction meetings, be familiar with the scope of work and contractual deliverables, the project schedule, plans and specifications, the project budget, and all subcontracts

• Assist in preparing a preliminary construction schedule for each project assigned, including scheduling intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met

• Keep PM informed of scheduling problems and formulate plan to adjust as needed

• Assure that materials are adequately delivered and stocked

• Track additions based upon budgetary restraints and communications with Project Manager

• Manage production and execution of subcontractors and vendors

• Manage and report production and adjust as required to ensure production rates are being met

• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion

• Coordinate project mobilization, job-site layout, equipment needs, and demobilization with appropriate personnel

• Coordinate work with other subcontractors on site

• Manage all aspects of field project sites, including but not limited to, compliance, safety, all state and federal regulations, equipment is maintained and functioning properly; and site remains clean, material and supplies are timely requisitioned, available, received, and inventoried

• Work with Operations team to plan and schedule upcoming scope of work items; ensure all deliveries are timely; if a delay is foreseeable, must communicate and work with Project Manager to develop a plan and communicate properly to general contractor and/or owner

• Complete daily field reports, including rain day tracking, QC results, and deliveries to the site are tracked and all backup such as delivery tickets are accounted for and forwarded to appropriate designated personnel

• Assist in resolving, design and detail problems with owners, design agents, suppliers, and subcontractors during construction phase

• Assist in preparing pay applications and periodic percent completion data for job cost reports

• Timely forwards receipts and invoices from job site to designated personnel

• Visit each job site assigned and attend progress meetings as required to have working knowledge of current project status and issues

• Attend all regular job-site meetings as required

• Ensure adequate manpower and equipment to meet the schedule; review the performance of all field employees and makes recommendations regarding staffing, developmental needs, position evaluations, and compensation

• Review work progress on each project assigned daily

• Performs weekly project reviews with each project team member to include the following major activities:

• Project schedule, safety, administration, and profitability

• Material and equipment procurement

• Quality of work and product

• Quality of relationships with client, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Manpower quantitative and qualitative analysis

• Procedures, processes, and systems

• Support Business Development activities by maintaining and enhancing relationships through networking and past clients and leveraging those relationships to secure profitable projects

• Create and maintain the values of a strong safety culture

• Maintain as-built drawings as required on projects

• Provide Project Manager a permanent record set, or that "as-built" information is transferred to permanent record set
