The Department of Journalism and Media Studies in Rutgers University’s School of Communication and Information invites applications for an academic year (nine-month), three-year, renewable non-tenure track professional faculty position, with a specialization in multimedia production. We seek an experienced professional and innovative instructor of courses in digital media production, video or broadcast production, audio production/podcasting, or immersive media. Investigative journalism experience would be a plus. Opportunities to teach journalism skills courses involving writing, reporting, editing and design also exist. An annual allocation for job-related activity is provided. The appointment begins on September 1, 2024.
Responsibilities of non-tenure track faculty members include teaching and service contributions in accordance with university policy. Non-tenure track faculty members typically teach four courses per semester, though there are opportunities for course reassignment, to pursue special projects, or other initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a significant record of professional experience and be able to demonstrate evidence of effective teaching. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a master’s or other advanced degree is preferred.
