The Poynter Institute Director, Program Management in Saint Petersburg, FL [1]

[]

Date: 2023-08

Position Summary:

Poynter seeks a Director of Program Management to help create exceptional participant experiences for Poynter’s global programs, which train more than 70,000 people each year from all fifty states and around the globe.

As director, you’ll lead an ambitious team to produce dozens of hybrid, virtual, asynchronous, and in-person journalism and media-related programs and events. Your team is the first to communicate with our thousands of program participants, and you’ll ensure that we offer consistently exceptional client experiences.

You’ll serve as the lead “super user” for the participant experience in our learning management system, our instructional design, how we onboard and offboard clients, and in our learning tools (360s, curriculum, intake surveys, and course software) – and work to identify gaps and drive improvements in those areas. You’ll also oversee Poynter’s on-demand and asynchronous course catalog to ensure our offerings are current and provide a clear path for ongoing learning.

You should be a dynamic leader who enjoys managing multiple complex projects, is customer focused, and is a creative and proactive problem solver. We’re looking for someone who can bring PMP certification or equivalent experience, can help us adopt new technology and systems across the Institute, and who has proven ability to engage with a range of stakeholders, including senior level clients. If you have journalism experience, that’s a big plus. And it’s vital that you have experience creating a culture of coaching, collaboration, feedback, learning, and idea generation.

To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to [email protected]

You’d join a creative, mission-driven team at The Poynter Institute, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization that has long represented the gold standard for the professional development of journalists.
