Apply To Join the AGN SIG Leadership

Deadline: August 29th, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to announce an open call for new membership to the Leadership Council of the NASA AGN Science Interest Group (SIG). We invite members of the AGN community to apply for this opportunity.

The AGN SIG Leadership Council is responsible for planning and facilitating activities that engage our community and advance collective efforts toward NASA’s scientific goals. While prior leadership experience is not required, ideal candidates will bring ideas, initiative, and enthusiasm to help shape and execute the group’s direction. We are looking for 3-4 new members available for a 2-year commitment.

As part of the Leadership Council, your responsibilities may include:

Organizing and leading community meetings or webinars

Proposing and coordinating collaborative projects

Representing the interests of the AGN community to NASA

Facilitating communication and knowledge sharing among AGN researchers

We recognize that these are tumultuous times, with ongoing uncertainties around NASA budgets and other institutional challenges. Now more than ever, engaged leadership is essential for maintaining a vibrant, connected, and forward-looking astronomy community.

Whether you are early in your career or more established, your vision for advancing AGN science and strengthening our community is what matters most. If you are interested in this Leadership Council position, please complete the application form at the link below by August 29. We anticipate selecting happening in September.
