Liftoff! NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 Begins Journey to International Space Station

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon crew spacecraft rocketed into the blue Florida sky, as NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, started their approximately 15-hour journey to the International Space Station on NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission. Liftoff occurred at 11:43 a.m. EDT from Launch Complex 39A in Florida.
At the time of launch, the space station orbiting at 17,500 miles per hour (28,200 kilometers per hour) about 260 miles over the north Atlantic, south of Nova Scotia.
