MUREP OCEAN will further capacity at MSIs and expand the investigator community that is addressing the relationship between climate and ocean biology and biogeochemistry.

Through MUREP OCEAN, NASA seeks to improve our understanding of the complex processes that govern the behavior of the world’s oceans and their impact on the broader Earth system. This is done by enhancing the capability of institutions to participate in NASA funding opportunities, such as Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) to support the Agency’s advancement of science and to achieve a deep scientific understanding of our planet.

Participating Institutions have access to a range of resources, including funding for research projects, professional development opportunities for faculty and students, and access to NASA data and facilities. MUREP OCEAN also encourages collaboration between institutions and with other NASA-funded researchers to promote interdisciplinary research and enhance the impact of the research findings.

Space Technology Artemis Research

MUREP Space Technology Artemis Research (STAR) (M-STAR) was created to strengthen the research capacity of MSIs, enabling their participation in NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) opportunities to develop advanced technologies essential for space exploration.

M-STAR aims to advance agency goals by enhancing institutional awareness of resources that strengthen the capacity of MSIs to offer and support STEM research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. It focuses on fostering connections between MSI administrators and STEM leaders to cutting-edge initiatives, ultimately increasing competitiveness to secure research funding and contracting opportunities.

Aerospace High-Volume Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Cooperative

MUREP Aerospace High-Volume Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Cooperative is a competitive opportunity for MSIs to lead post-secondary education teams that will collaborate with domestic partners, including small businesses, to respond to gaps in the U. S. aerospace high-volume manufacturing supply chain ecosystem.

These networks are designed to support the development of a broader technical aerospace high-volume manufacturing workforce while increasing interest in related entrepreneurship opportunities.

The goal of MUREP High-Volume is to develop a significant scientific, engineering, and/or technology manufacturing and supply chain network led by MSIs that aligns with aerospace, NASA, and/or industry (public or private) high-volume manufacturing and supply chain needs for national competitiveness.

Data Science Equity, Access and Priority

NASA awards 11.7 million to HBCUs to conduct data science research that will contribute to the agency’s Science Mission Directorate missions.

MUREP Data Science Equity, Access and Priority (DEAP), led by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominately Black Institutions (PBIs), are established to accelerate discovery in various NASA Science Mission Directorate (SMD) domains through collaborative, data intensive approaches and co-designed programs that implement NASA open science principles and architecture to address critical national challenges.

How to Find Funding Opportunities Explore Engagement Opportunities in NASA STEM The NASA Research Announcement titled “Engagement Opportunities in NASA STEM or EONS” solicits education and research opportunities in support of the NASA STEM projects. EONS is an omnibus announcement that includes a range of NASA STEM Engagement opportunities for basic and applied science and technology research and other opportunities. NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System Supporting research in science and technology is an important part of NASA's overall mission. NASA solicits this research through the release of various announcements in a wide range of disciplines. NASA uses a peer review process to evaluate and select proposals submitted in response to these announcements. Researchers can help NASA achieve national science and technology objectives by submitting proposals and conducting awarded projects.
