JWST Cycle 1 Science and Commissioning Data Now Available [1]

[]

Date: 2022-09

Any Cycle 1 science data taken during commissioning are now available with the appropriate exclusive access period in the MAST archive. You are required to log in to retrieve any data with an exclusive access period.

The MAST has begun the process of making the more than 40 TB of commissioning data available to users in the MAST portal. Visit the Commissioning Data Highlights webpage for a list of some of the most science-like commissioning observations. AWS bulk download scripts are available now to download some of the commissioning data. The commissioning data is also being added to MAST portal, a process that can take half a day. Users can use the MAST portal to filter and download the data as it appears. However, for the next week, in order to download the data from the MAST portal users will be required to log in with their MyST account while the data are copied to the public area of the archive.

Commissioning data are currently being reprocessed with the latest version of the JWST pipeline. Only those data that have been reprocessed are copied to the AWS cloud.

Read the JWST archive manual for more information about how to find and download JWST data. Questions about how to best download the data should be directed to the MAST Help Desk. All other questions can be sent to the JWST Help Desk.
