📃 Russia expands simplified citizenship process: Vladimir Putin has signed an executive order that allows all Ukrainian citizens to apply for Russian citizenship through a simplified process. Putin issued an order facilitating the same process for residents of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk “people’s republics'' in 2019, and another one for residents of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, which are currently occupied by Russia, on May 25, 2022. The expedited route will now be available to all Ukrainians; many of the Ukrainians who have entered Russia since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February, however, have done so against their will.
