⚖️ LNR begins its own mercenary trials: Officials in the self-declared Luhansk People’s Republic have charged a Swedish national with illegal mercenary activity. A source told the Russian state news agency TASS that the individual in question surrendered to invading forces in Mariupol at the Azovstal iron and steel works. He reportedly claims not to have participated in any combat. Officials have not yet released his name. (The self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic has already sentenced three captured foreigners to death for mercenary activity, though it hasn’t yet carried out these sentences, and it has charged another two British men with the same crime.)
