Iowa State University to pay $124,000 to Shawn Norman in separation agreement [1]
['Brooklyn Draisey', 'More From Author', '- December']
Date: 2023-12
Iowa State University will pay its former vice president for operations and finance more than $100,000 after his departure from the university.
According to a separation agreement signed Dec. 5, Shawn Norman will receive a total gross amount of $124,000 in a “separation payment” from the university, to be paid between Jan. 1 and Jan. 15, 2024. He agreed to cut ties with the university effective Dec. 1.
When asked about reason as to why Norman is no longer with the university, spokesperson Angie Hunt said the information in the separation agreement is all she can share.
As the Iowa Capital Dispatch previously reported, Associate Vice President for Finance Services Heather Paris was appointed as the interim vice president, pending approval from the Iowa Board of Regents. She previously served in the interim position before Norman started the job in January 2023.
Norman previously worked in the role of associate vice president for planning, budget and analysis at the University of Nevada, Reno before being chosen for Iowa State University’s position from a national search.
