The public is invited to the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine’s fifth-annual Community Health Fair, where participants can receive free physical exams, blood pressure screenings and other health services.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 29 at the college’s Meridian-based campus, 1401 E. Central Drive, according to a press release from the college.

ICOM student doctors will also offer educational sessions throughout the day on health topics such as lifestyle medicine, dermatology, cardiology, and osteopathic manipulative medicine, the press release said.

The community fair, free to participants 18 or older, is organized by ICOM’s Student Health Fair Committee and Student Government Association.

“This event is a favorite for the student body, as it allows students to connect with the community they are training to serve,” said Benjamin Hunthausen, a second-year medical student and the association’s community outreach chairman, in the press release. “We know this event makes a lasting impact on the Treasure Valley and the students of ICOM, and we are determined to provide this opportunity for years to come.”

The Saint Alphonsus mobile mammography bus will be on-site, with health care providers offering digital mammography and clinical breast exams. The Treasure Valley Dermatology mobile clinic will also be on-site to offer free and fast skin checks. Other vendors include: Advanced Neuropathy Center, Idaho Immunization Coalition, the Idaho Division of Public Health’s Bureau of Environmental Health and Communicable Disease, Idaho State University Health Clinics, Your Health Idaho, and Magellan Healthcare, according to the press release.

There will also be a limited supply of food boxes, courtesy of the Idaho Foodbank.
