Jesse Tree, a Boise-based nonprofit whose mission is to prevent eviction and homelessness, is hosting two tenants’ rights trainings in February.

When: 6:30-7:30 p.m., Feb. 3 and Feb. 24

Where: William F. Hayes Memorial Auditorium, Boise Public Library

“For years, Jesse Tree has provided tenants with education on this topic through our Tenant Resource Center, but we have noticed an increased need for a deeper understanding of Idaho tenant rights from many community members,” Housing Advocacy Fellow Hal Scott told the Idaho Capital Sun.

Jesse Tree staff will cover the same topics on both days of training. Some of the topics discussed will include:

The right to security deposits

The right to unionize in Boise

The right to reasonable fees, as recently put into law

The right to utilities, including heat

To register, visit Jesse Tree’s Eventbrite page for its Feb. 3 training session or for its Feb. 24 training session.
