Planning for the future, Idaho Power to host public meeting about energy needs [1]

['Mia Maldonado', 'More From Author', '- August']

Date: 2023-08

Idaho Power customers are invited to attend a virtual meeting Aug. 15 to learn about the utility company’s plan to provide additional electricity over the next 20 years.

Known as the Integrated Resource Plan, Idaho Power updates the plan every two years to discuss resources that will meet the company’s future energy needs while balancing reliability, cost and environmental responsibility.

Idaho Power regularly meets with the plan’s advisory council, which consists of experts from the environmental community, irrigation representatives, public officials and utility commission representatives to predict how much energy is needed to serve its growing number of customers. Meetings with the advisory council are also public.

The next meeting will provide customers an update on the company’s analysis of its resource options and provide insight into how future resources will impact emissions, reliability and costs.

When: Aug. 15, 9 a.m. Mountain time

The public can attend via Webex using this link and entering the password: 12345.

For more details about the virtual meeting or to submit a comment to Idaho Power to discuss at the meeting, visit the company’s Integrated Resource Plan website page.
