Canyon County offering free boating safety course on March 4 [1]

The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Division will offer a free boating safety course from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release.

Sgt. Jason Roberts will teach the one-day introductory course at the Canyon County Marine Office, 12974 Iowa Ave. in Nampa.

Attendees will learn general information about boats, safety and maintenance, as well as tips on how to be a more courteous boat operator. Attendees will also learn about Idaho laws and regulations associated with owning and operating a boat, according to the press release.

The event is open to all boaters, regardless of experience, and attendees who complete the one-day course will earn their boater education safety card, the press release said.
