Workspaces of Global Voices 2025 (Part 2) [1]

Cecilia (Patagonia, Argentina):
“I set up my office in my bedroom because it's the quietest spot in the house. Here, I enjoy the mountain view while I drink maté and work on my translations.”
Juliana (Jakarta, Indonesia): “View from my work table. Take a look on my books and some little ‘friends’ would cheer me up during workday. ”
Romina (Angüés, Huesca, Spain): “I live in a quiet rural area of Aragón, and this desk is placed in the “attic” next to a window from which I have a view of the extensive county fields.”
Jean (Lomé, Togo): “At first, I worked from my sofa, but to be more comfortable, I bought this desk set (table and chair) and work from my living room [first picture]. Over time, I've rented a small room to have more concentration and avoid the noise of the children when I'm working [second image]. And that's where I work now. But I'll have to do a better job of arranging the premises so as to have a fairly professional office with maximum ventilation.”
Imanoela (Antananarivo, Madagascar): “I started by translating Global Voices stories from a little folding table, and today I get to work from a space that truly reflects me! :D My desk is a joyful little jungle of colors where every tiny touch adds a spark of joy to my soul. From here, I translate powerful Global Voices stories with heart and energy, surrounded by the things I love. It's maximalist, it's intentional, it's me. (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧”
Dijana (Novi Sad, Serbia): “This secret corner has witnessed many translations to / from English and Serbian and will continue to do so, I'm sure!”
Amadou (Dakar, Senegal): “Hello GV, this space in close to my room where i have made so many GV Englis to French translations. I have already made a video shot from this place for “Les mots ont la parole” of Filip Noubel and Jean Sovon; Enjoy. Amadou, Dakar.”
Skye (Petit Valley, Trinidad and Tobago):
“My work desk is in my bedroom, upstairs, overlooking the Diego Martin Valley on the western peninsula of the island of Trinidad. When it's overcast like today, I leave the curtains in front of me open a bit; otherwise, there's too much light in my eyes. I have a photo of my mother taped to the window, keeping me company while I read, work, scroll or do puzzles. I love having two screens; it makes things so much easier.”
Ameya (Bengaluru, India): “I always like to be able to look up and see greenery, so my desk is always against a window even though it means weird backgrounds and sun in my face. I also have to make sure there's room for the cats nearby or they will take over my laptop!”
Iryna (Timisoara, Romania): “My workspace is a cozy corner in my home, where I do all my GV work. It’s a quiet and comfortable spot with everything I need within reach — perfect for focused translation and editing.”
