The voting period for the Global Voices 2023 board election opens in just a few hours. Here's everything you need to know about the voting process!

Hello, GVers. This is Georgia, and in this video, I'm going to show you how to vote in the upcoming Global Voices Board elections.
As you know, we're holding these elections to select three people to represent the Global Voices community on the GV board of directors: two volunteers’ representatives, and one contractors’ representative. Anyone who's posted to a GV site within the last five years is eligible to vote. Also eligible is anyone who's been involved with a GV project for at least three months. And of course, all annual contractors.
If you are eligible to vote, you'll receive an email from our voting platform, which is called Helios. The sender of the email will be “Helios Voting Bot”, and the email will look something like this. When the voting period opens around 4:00 AM UTC on April 15th, you'll receive another email letting you know it's time to vote.
That email will contain a link to the voting platform, your Voter ID– which is actually just your email address– and your unique voter password. To cast your vote in this election, click on the “Election URL” link in the email. That link takes you to a login page where you input your Voter ID –which is your email address– and the password you received in the email.
Log in, and you'll arrive at the Helios Voting Booth, which outlines the three simple steps in the voting process. Click on “Start” to access the ballot page. In the board election, each voter has three votes, one to cast for the contractor's representative, and two to cast for the volunteers’ representative. You must use all three of your votes.
When you've made your selections, click on the “Proceed” button, which takes you to a page where you can review your ballot. Once you've made sure that everything's okay, click “Submit this Vote”, which brings you to the second to last page. Click on “CAST this ballot”, and that's it.
And that's it. You've voted in the Global Voices Board Election.
The voting period ends on April 21st at 4:00 AM UTC. I should also add that all votes in the GV Board election are confidential. The ballots are encrypted, so nobody knows who voted for whom. Happy voting!
