Taiwán: la nación más feliz de Asia del Este, según el Informe Mundial de la Felicidad 2022 [1]

La Red de Soluciones para el Desarrollo Sostenible de Naciones Unidas publicó su Informe de Felicidad Mundial 2022 el viernes 18 de marzo.
El informe clasifica a Taiwán en el puesto 26 de naciones más felices del mundo y la más feliz entre los países del este de Asia, mientras que Hong Kong cayó al puesto 81, un lugar después de Rusia.
En cuanto a China continental, ocupa el puesto 72 entre 146 países.
Este año, el informe destaca los efectos del COVID-19 en el bienestar de las personas y uno de sus principales hallazgos es:
Countries where people trusted their governments and each other experienced lower COVID-19 death tolls and set the stage for maintaining or rebuilding a sense of common purpose to deliver happier, healthier and more sustainable lives.
El informe mide la evaluación subjetiva de las personas sobre su bienestar con seis variables clave: PIB per cápita, apoyo social, esperanza de vida saludable, libertad para tomar decisiones en la vida, generosidad y ausencia de corrupción.
Jeffrey D. Sachs, editor fundador del informe, resume las lecciones que aprendió del esfuerzo de investigación de un decenio:
Now, at a time of pandemics and war, we need such an effort more than ever. And the lesson of the World Happiness Report over the years is that social support, generosity to one another, and honesty in government are crucial for well-being. World leaders should take heed. Politics should be directed as the great sages long ago insisted: to the well-being of the people, not the power of the rulers.
