Date: 2024-07
Register
Foreign influence operations by actors linked to authoritarian regimes like Russia and China pose a threat to U.S. security and democracy globally. Ahead of the 2024 U.S. elections, malign influence operations have the potential to stoke and spread confusion, division, and violence that risk interference with America’s free and open democratic process. This event will gather policymakers and experts for a discussion of foreign influence threats to our electoral process and what concrete actions our leaders can take to counter false and misleading information in the lead-up to November and beyond.
The program will feature a conversation with Representative Mike Turner and Senator Mark Warner, chairmen of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, moderated by the Honorable Jane Harman, co-chair of the Freedom House Board of Trustees. The event will continue with a panel of experts, including Kat Duffy of the Council on Foreign Relations, Dr. Lindsay Hundley of Meta, Kian Vesteinsson of Freedom House, and Gavin Wilde of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, moderated by Rachel Hoff, policy director at the Ronald Reagan Institute. Fred Ryan, chairman of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute’s Board of Trustees, will deliver opening remarks beginning at 2:30 PM ET.
Please arrive no later than 2:15 PM to ensure an on-time event start.
This event will take place at the Ronald Reagan Institute. If you cannot attend in person, you may register to watch online.
