Defend the Constitution and stand up to Trump [1]

Our Constitution is in danger from within! The president thinks he was elected king and issues executive orders that put our military at risk, denies aid to our allies and kills children in need of medication provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development. That’s just for starters.

In a quest to control our borders, he used military equipment, transport and soldiers to deport about 2,000 immigrants. On Feb. 13, one flight carried 114 to India. The next day, 157 were flown to India. Another 21 flights to Honduras, Guatemala, Peru and Ecuador had an average of 52 passengers per flight. It seems a costly plan just to show you’re in charge.
Some flights to Guantanamo resulted in having to shuffle them back to Honduras.
He ordered the firing of top generals and civilians, and then had to recant and scramble to hire people. The Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Transportation, the Internal Revenue Service and Social Security Administration all face reduction of staff. As Americans, we’ll all feel the effects of these actions.
Reading Project 2025 before the election, this was expected. Now, the president is following that destructive project step by step despite denying knowing anything about it.
It’s time for all of us to voice our concern for America’s democracy, to rise up and take action. It’s time for the House and Senate to remember their oath to protect and preserve the Constitution of the United States. The men and women in both houses were elected to serve Americans, not Donald Trump.
He put Elon Musk in charge of a Department of Government Efficiency without vetting or approval from Congress. But Musk’s a billionaire who contributed where it serves him best. Musk has billions in government contracts and is in conflict of interest with the agencies that protect our safety from faulty autos, and he’s looking into those.
He hit the Trump lottery and is going to take advantage while “finding inefficiency in our government.”
Yes, our government is not perfect, there is duplication, waste and corruption, but do we have to put the wolf in the chicken coop to clean it up?
The president is ill-advised and bullheaded! He called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy not essential for meetings discussing the war between his country and Russia!
That sends a wrong message to our allies who stood with us and Ukraine. It also opens the door for adversaries looking to seize the opportunity of a crack in America’s armor.
He embraces Putin in this war and makes one wonder if reports that he became a KGB agent on his first trip to Russia are true.
The decision to leave Ukraine to suffer the consequences of negotiating with the enemy should make anyone wonder. Around the globe, people ponder why Americans are giving him free reign.
As lawsuits mounted against the president’s actions, it prompted one district judge to say, “In this courtroom and under my watch, the rule of law is a bright beacon, which I intend to follow … ”
That courageous judge is my kind of hero, courageous and absolutely right. The rule of law is our beacon and Trump, or any president, must never be allowed to extinguish it! Let those in Washington take heed from the judge, stop any and all who attempt to violate the rule of law and the Constitution.
May God continue to bless America.
