July 4 Closings: All federal, state, county and city offices will be closed on Tuesday in observance of the Fourth of July holiday, including the El Paso Zoo and the city’s recreation, senior and aquatic centers. The city’s water parks and splash pads will be open, and garbage and recycling collection will be in service. All local school districts, as well as the University of Texas at El Paso, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and El Paso Community College, will also be closed. The El Paso City Council meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at City Hall. Also, the El Paso County Commissioners Court will not meet on Monday, July 3.
