I respect Tim as a corporate professional but the attached is not a good take; given the nature of technical capability notices it is necessary for Apple or anyone to remove themselves from toxic markets.

The Apple PR propaganda on this one is strong. Typically respectable reporters are touting Apple compromising encryption in the UK as somehow rebelling and refusing to build a “back door”. Folks, Apple just opened the FRONT DOOR. — Tim Sweeney (@TimSweeneyEpic) February 21, 2025
