For various reasons I’ve been musing to myself regarding “What is the traditional [male] national dress of my people?” and I’ve drawn up the following list

obscure technical conference tee-shirt, or: heavy-metal band tee

cargo shorts

tube socks, where worn

flipflops, or: birkenstocks (bay area / unix beards) or: new balance 990 (apple devs) or: chucks (us misc) or: hi-tec squash (80s uk)

Fortunately this also passes as the modern “dad uniform”.
