Building Evidence to Increase Rural Learner Success [1]

Ascendium supports efforts that can help the field better understand rural learners from low-income backgrounds and postsecondary education and workforce training providers.
In the two years since the launch of Ascendium’s Support Rural Postsecondary Education and Workforce Training focus area, we have learned about both unique assets and barriers in rural locations that impact the ability of learners from low-income backgrounds to access, persist in and complete high-quality postsecondary education and workforce training to secure good jobs.
In an effort to address gaps in evidence for strategies that support rural learners from low-income backgrounds in earning degrees and credentials with labor market value, Ascendium is inviting research partners to submit a letter of intent (LOI) for this initiative.
Ascendium has partnered with American Institutes for Research (AIR) to support the management of this grant opportunity. LOI applicants with projects most aligned will be asked to submit a full proposal for consideration.
