The US, its Citizens, the Irony & the Hypocrisy [1]

Fair warning I’m going off on US Citizens and the US in this entry. Because frankly y’all don’t have the courage of your so-called convictions.
If ever a country and its citizens were meant to fight against fascism it should be the US and its citizens for that is what they have preached in other countries, that is what they have fed other countries, that is what they have claimed to stand for!
The irony of watching and hearing US Citizens lay down and roll over in the face of authoritarianism, fascism, dictatorship, whatever you want to call this regime, has reached levels “never seen before”.
Imagine the country that has invaded, occupied, imposed sanctions, had the world place embargoes and, in some cases, warred with other countries to impose democracy, today being so complacent and non-responsive when said fascism comes knocking on their doors.
Imagine the country whose claim to fame is selling democracy, being the leader of democracy, vaunting the benefit of democracy, today stand meekly by as fascists and extremists roam their streets with nazi flags.
Imagine the country birthed by a revolution to rid themselves of monarchy, the 4th of July baby! Today bend over backwards to cater to a fake photocopy of a man who wants to be king. The irony.
Imagine the country who pushed the ideals of freedom and rights, the narrative of dreams, the tales of courage of fighting and dying for freedoms and rights, is today the country who not a small portion of their citizens say ‘I might lose my job”.
Really? Isn’t that the reason you put embargoes, sanctions and other atrocities on poor countries, so that their citizens (at the risk of losing not only their jobs but their lives – which is what happened to ME) rise up and fight whatever style of governance you deemed were not acceptable by you? The hypocrisy!
Where are these activists who boycotted factories and businesses to get them to shut down in other countries? Losing poor folks their only source of revenue for them and their families? You today have the audacity to say “I might lose my job” when it comes to defending your own rights?
From where I’m sitting? It seems the US and its citizens are really gun-ho when it comes to imposing their democracy on others, on fighting for democracy by distance on others, but when danger comes to their doorstep watching them come up with ever excuse under the sun and the moon and the stars to chicken out is the most disgusting display of cowardice I’ve ever witnessed.
