Yesterday the United States Senate voted UNANIMOUSLY for a resolution calling for a national day of remembrance for Charlie Kirk.
Well please be sure to keep these things firmly in mind when you call your senator and ream them out for this travesty (OR tell them what a great job they’re doing if you’re happy about valorizing Charlie Kirk.)
“Women should be submissive to their husbands and not work.”
“Gun deaths are an acceptable cost of the Second Amendment.”
“Because of his faith, he didn’t believe in abortion for victims of rape — even if it happened to his own daughter.”
“He promoted the Great Replacement theory.”
“He called transgender identity a mental disease, refused to use pronouns, and demanded a nationwide ban on gender-affirming care.”
“He quoted scripture about homosexuality being an abomination deserving death.”
“Single women are one of the biggest issues facing civilization.”
“He called Martin Luther King Jr a myth and said the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a huge mistake.”
“He spread COVID-19 misinformation, calling mask and vaccine mandates ‘medical apartheid.’”
“He suggested mass incarceration as a fix for the housing crisis.”
“He advocated for public, televised executions for children to watch.”
“He dismissed Black competence and made demeaning statements about Black women and pilots.”
Charlie once said Michelle Obama and other supporters of affirmative action “lacked the brain processing power” to understand arguments about those policies. He also said, “If I see a Black pilot, I’m gonna be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’”
“He doesn’t believe in empathy.”
“He called George Floyd a scumbag.”
Again, the entire Senate voted to valorize this POS. All of them. ALL OF THEM THINKS THIS SHOULD BE PUT ON A PEDESTAL. I’m trying so hard not to hop on that doom train y’all but this is just so far beyond the pale.
