Sharing a great video from Anna Bocca entitled “Who is REALLY controlling the Economy.” This is a great video on how our economic system got here, she goes through the economic history of neoliberalism explaining who the major players were and what they did.

In this video, I’m exploring how business elites and super-rich industrialists funded a narrative that would come to dominate the 20th century: the myth that free markets equal freedom, that government is the enemy, and that corporate success magically trickles down to benefit everyone else.
From child labor and propaganda campaigns to the rise of powerful think tanks and well-funded academics like Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek, and Milton Friedman, this episode uncovers how the idea of “market fundamentalism” was carefully manufactured — and sold to all of us as common sense. My views on this is its obvious the rich control our reality through propaganda like this. They also use showponies (Regan), and hacks (Friedman) to build up this mysticism. Most folks use their terms to describe their reality as their marketing has been that good for so long.
To get actual systemic change for us working-class folks, we need to crack this rotten narrative wide open and destroy it. We need to replace it with a human-centric one based in providing essential services and protections for everyone.
