Texts by Kirk's killer to roommate released: Something's fishy. They don't sound like a 22-year-old [1]

When I read the texts sent by Tyler Robinson, Charlie Kirk's accused killer, to his roommate, I am troubled. Because I find it hard to believe a 22-year-old wrote them. I'm not saying they weren't. Unlike Kash Patel, I don't make claims without evidence. But the language is that of an older person.
In addition, the evidence that Robinson is the shooter seems compelling — and I make no claim he isn't. But something seems off.
This is how the BBC reported the release of the texts by the authorities — who took the opportunity to play to the cheap seats with references to the accused's sexual orientation and the gender identity of his roommate.
The man suspected of killing conservative commentator Charlie Kirk texted his roommate after the shooting to discuss a possible motive, according to court documents. The unnamed roommate told investigators that Tyler Robinson had messaged to say he had left a confession under his keyboard after last Wednesday's shooting at Utah Valley University campus in the city of Orem, said prosecutors. Authorities have said the unnamed roommate was a transgender male transitioning to female and was in a romantic relationship with the defendant.
The BBC continued:
Here's the full record of a series of text messages exchanged with the alleged gunman on the day of the shooting, which the roommate provided to investigators.
Let's have a look at what the texts said. They start:
Robinson: "drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard."
I have received innumerable texts from my 20-something children. They don't say things like "drop what you are doing". Hell, I don't text stuff like that. Especially if I have just shot someone.
The report says:
[When the roommate looked under the keyboard, there was a note that allegedly read: "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it."]
Robinson would have written in the calm before the assassination. Robinson was an excellent student. So why the tense confusion? "I had" (past) vs. "I'm going to" (future). I'll grant you, we all make mistakes. Taken alone, this error is proof of nothing. But with everything else …
The texts continue:
Robinson: I am still ok my love, but am stuck in orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn't be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.
This isn't a text. It's a novel. There are no abbreviations. No text-speak. Not even a "TBH."
The roommate questions why, if Robinson had done it, the authorities had picked up a different guy. Robinson relies:
Robinson: no, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. Its quiet, almost enough to get out, but theres one vehicle lingering.
Robinson has just shot someone. The adrenaline must be flowing. He's probably panicked. Yet he has time to write in full his analysis of the early reaction of the authorities. And including details about "similar clothing".
Also, look at the vocabulary: "interrogated someone," "drop point," "locked down," and "vehicle lingering." It sounds a lot like cop speak.
Robinson then calmly discusses a potential out. The reader can decide if this reads like the text of a 22-year-old on the run.
Robinson: If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven't seen anything about them finding it.
The roommate reportedly asks, "How long have you been planning this?" Again, it is a complete sentence. I think back to my single days when I had a roommate. If texting had existed then, I am sure there would have been a lot of "WTFs". I doubt I would have been asking for details. Robinson replies:
Robinson: a bit over a week I believe. I can get close to it but there is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don't wanna chance it
"I believe," "squad car," swept that spot." The more I read, the more this strikes me as complete bullshit. Robinson continues by ruminating on all the things he might have done differently. Rather than comment on everything, I will highlight what I think is bogus. The reader can decide what they believe.
Robinson: I'm wishing I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle.... I'm worried what my old man would do if I didn't bring back grandpas rifle ... idek if it had a serial number, but it wouldn't trace to me. I worry about prints I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits. didn't have the ability or time to bring it with.... I might have to abandon it and hope they don't find prints. how the [expletive] will I explain losing it to my old man.…
At this point, Robinson starts breaking up his texts and using a semblance of text speak and garbled English — why the sudden change? He also seems dead keen that the authorities have 'evidence' that he was the one who had loaded the gun
only thing I left was the rifle wrapped in a towel.… remember how I was engraving bullets? The [expletive] messages are mostly a big meme, if I see "notices bulge uwu" on fox new I might have a stroke alright im gonna have to leave it, that really [expletive] sucks.... judging from today I'd say grandpas gun does just fine idk. I think that was a $2k scope;-;
If, at this point, the reader thinks it sounds like two different people wrote these texts, I can't disagree. The rest of the texts are more of the same. They include a lot of convenient detail and weird language — not young people weird, but weird weird.
Robinson: delete this exchange Robinson: my dad wants photos of the rifle ... he says grandpa wants to know who has what, the feds released a photo of the rifle, and it is very unique. Hes calling me rn, not answering. Robinson: since trump got into office [my dad] has been pretty diehard maga. Robinson: Im gonna turn myself in willingly, one of my neighbors here is a deputy for the sheriff. Robinson: you are all I worry about love Roommate: I'm much more worried about you Robinson: don't talk to the media please. don't take any interviews or make any comments. ... if any police ask you questions ask for a lawyer and stay silent
I like to think I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But this text stream is … questionable?
