Senator Sanders: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza [1]

Independent Senator Sanders may be the first member of the US Senate who called Israel’s siege in Gaza a genocide. His statement comes after a UN commission declared the conflict in Gaza a genocide as well.

Israel is not having a great diplomatic week. After its attack in Doha last week, Israel has become very isolated and desperate, and no one takes official statements from its government serious anymore. Qatar sent a representative to the ICC today, most likely to file a complaint against Israel’s attack. And calls are growing to boycott Israel like apartheid South Africa in sports and the arts.

Next week some of our closest allies: Canada, Australia, the UK and many other European countries will recognize the state of Palestine and the US and Israel will be more alone than ever and humiliated together.
