They all swore an oath to defend me, but today they are all stripping me of my words, my ideals.
The Supreme Court has bent the knee, choosing to restore the powers of a monarchy
The leaders of the military have behaved cowardly, choosing a king instead of me
The House led by the GOP has given up on integrity, choosing to uphold an autocracy
Who is left to defend me? The one that birthed the laws of this country?

Who shall fight for me? Who shall fight with me? Who shall fight besides me?
Where are the braves the patriots, the ones that swore to protect me?
Where are the citizens, the hard workers, the ones that swore to defend me?
Where are the judges and the law, the ones that swore to shield me?
Has every citizen in this land, surrendered to this buffoonery?

I look about and all I see, are the remnants of democracy
The rule of law has been throttled, the military wages war on citizenry
The right to speech that once was free, is now subject to white supremacy
The right of guns meant to defend, has been turned upon the children of the land
Have you no courage left at all, to stand up to a dithering fool?

What madness has infected you that you’ve given up the rights to liberty?
Are you really so greedy that you’d offer your children’s future as currency
Would you rather give up your free speech to keep wallowing in bigotry?
The path you’re on leads to nothing but tears, despair and misery
Who will stand up and offer cures for this pandemic of idiocy!

Who shall stand up?
Who shall fight?
Who shall defend?
This country?
Who is left to defend democracy!
