Kentucky Canvass Wrapup: Why are we here? [1]

Hope Springs from Field PAC [dated website] went into Kentucky as an experiment. Testing the waters, as it were, for a Democratic candidate to oppose MAGA Representative Andy Barr. DCCC had put KY-06 on their target list, perhaps in the case that Barr retired. It wasn’t a natural alignment, since we didn’t have access to any volunteers there. But we did have two organizers in the Cincinnati area, and a third from Indianapolis, who expressed interested in a Kentucky effort.

KY-06 is the pink CD (Lexington). KY-06 is now a +7 R CD

KY-06 has been slowly, but steadily, becoming more Democratic. Emphasis on slowly. There are Democratic strongholds outside of Lexington, which is where we mostly concentrated.

We spent 11 Saturdays in the suburbs of Lexington and Frankfort. In all, 2,304 Hope Springs volunteers came out to knock on 165,423 doors. We talked to 13,228 voters and had in-depth conversations with 8,437 of them, guided by our Issues Questionnaire.
