The Virginia Mercury wrote a piece today about the 27 races in Virginia that our Charles Gaba/Brainwrap promotes and raises money for. They highlighted the fact that the DNC and the DLCC are giving the Virginia Democratic Party a ton of money and pointed out that the money is not being distributed to all the candidates. They mentioned where money is coming from.

A special fundraising page on Act Blue, a Democratic fundraising site, dubs the 27 Democratic candidates for House seats in Republican-leaning areas the “Virginia Value Pack” who are “punching well above their weight.” The Act Blue page’s goal is $70,000 that can be split between the candidates, for which about $60,000 has already been raised from individuals chipping in. virginiamercury.com/...

But they didn’t mention Charles Gaba which we don’t appreciate. Charles probably doesn’t care; they printed the link and that’s what matters.

x 📣 I've also created a SECOND VA fundraising page focusing on the REDDEST districts in the state. Most of these Dems won't win, but funding them means they can run competitive races & force VA Republicans to defend "safe" turf. 50 DAYS. DONATE TODAY! #Blue25

Cindy Green, the focus of the Mercury piece, is one of those 27 candidates, and she had this to say.

Green said it’s “ironic” that Democratic leadership in Virginia touts having 100 candidates this year, while not financially backing all of them. She said she understands most resources should be directed at those in competitive or potentially flippable seats, but says a little bit would go a long way for candidates like herself. “A campaign like mine, it doesn’t take a lot of money to provide support,” Green said. Her money goes toward brochures to hand out when door-knocking, yard signs, radio ads, and billboards. With a small campaign of volunteers who have full-time jobs like herself, she doesn’t have to worry about paying staff or consultants or large advertisement blitzes. virginiamercury.com/...

Don’t appreciate the Party not sharing the money but will say that in May the Mercury did acknowledge 90for90’s part in getting those 100 candidates and we do appreciate of that.

Dr. Ferguson Reid said this milestone holds special meaning in a year when his father, founder of the 90 for 90 Voter Registration Project, celebrated a milestone birthday. “Dad turned 100 a few weeks ago. There are 100 districts in the state house,” Reid said. “My goal is not to let what happened in 2021 happen again, especially on Dad’s 100th year when he’s watching. He’s been calling me every night to make sure that we get in 100 districts.” virginiamercury.com/...

We here at Daily Kos have been a huge driver of funds for these candidates. Much appreciation! Let’s keep it up!

This is where my story ends. Anything between this and the comments has nothing to do with me. ZT
