Every Word is Sacred, Just Like Every Gun - But Only If It's Pointed At a Democrat [1]

The first and second amendments are the backbone of so many Republican arguments: you must be free to say whatever you like, unless it is critical of the newly reborn messiah Jesus H. Trump! And anyone must be allowed to own any kind of gun they like, as long as they are pointing it at someone the Republicans don’t like. We’ve heard it so often, for so long.

But the amendments say no such thing. We have a long history of restrictions on free speech, such as not being allowed to shout “Fire!” in a crowded theater. But that is exactly what Charlie Kirk did for a living (and laughed when people were trampled, like Pelosi’s husband). And that is exactly what the Republicans are doing in response to the recent unpleasantness in Utah.

Similarly, their attitude toward guns is utterly the opposite of what the second amendment seeks to offer: protection. They have absolutely no problem with the most untrained, undisciplined, unregulated people owning guns that were unimaginable to the those who penned the amendment.

The amendment speaks of “well ordered” militias, when there is nothing well ordered about Kirk’s accused killer, nor the indicted killer of Mark and Melissa Hortman in Minnesota. But the Republicans are tearing their hair out over Kirk’s death, while on the day the Hortmans were buried Trump went golfing.

What’s the difference? Why did Trump proudly boast about not even shifting his well larded behind to call in condolences to Minnesota, then pointedly golf through the funeral, and now is insisting the White House flag be flown at half mast for Kirk?

Because the Hortmans were Democrats, so shoot as many of them as you like! How’s that for well-ordered? And Melissa Hortman was critical of Trump, so he all but threw a party at her death. How’s that for free speech?

The hypocrisy is thicker than the La Brea Tar Pits, and it contains just as many skeletons.
