There was a time when automobiles had hood ornaments. Some of these were works of art symbolizing the prestige of the automobile, while others were functional, serving as temperature gages. Shown below are some of the automobile hood ornaments from cars in the LeMay—America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington.
