Green card holder Grandma in custody for deportation to Ireland over $25 bad check 9 years ago. She has lived in the US legally since 1977. Went to Ireland for a funeral, arrested on return by ICE.
She describes ICE prison conditions as ‘deplorable’. When requesting low salt diet she was moved into isolation cell. She is held in Kentucky. She lived in Missouri, runs horse farm in Troy. Drove to North Carolina in October, 2024 to give aid to hurricane victims.
She was never charged for the check bouncing, paid it back. Mother of 5 US citizens, lived in US for over 45 years. Veteran husband voted for Trump, now regrets it, says “they are not telling the truth”.
She has been held since July 29, Scheduled for deportation next week.
