At least three students, including the suspect, were shot today at a high school in Evergreen, Colorado, about 30 miles west of Denver. All three were transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Gov. Jared Polis released the following statement: “I am closely monitoring the situation at Evergreen High School, and am getting live updates. State Troopers are supporting local law enforcement in responding to this situation. Students should be able to attend school safely and without fear across our state and nation. We are all praying for the victims and the entire community."
As of today, there have been 44 school shootings and 300 mass shootings across America, so common now they often don’t even get reported except on the local news. Some people say dead children and other innocent victims are just the price we have to pay to have a Second Amendment.
"I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational.” — Charlie Kirk
I don’t agree, and I doubt most of the families and friends of the victims do either—thousands of names that seldom make the national news.
