Greetings friends,

I have watched with alarm the evolution of the Trump 2.0 regime. Over the past few months, I have steadily come to believe that waiting until the 2026 elections are TOO LATE. The Trump project is accelerating.

I was in downtown Washington DC for the protest to get the National Guard out of the city. I have lived in the DC area nearly all my life. I LOVE my city. It has its flaws — all cities do — but it is overwhelmingly an amazing place to live. It is beautiful, with SO many trees. The museums, some of the best in the world, are free to the public. The subway and bus systems are clean and relatively crime-free. There’s many bike lanes now. It’s a fantastic place and I can honestly say that I would not want to live anywhere else.

MY city is being called a hell-hole. MY city is being smeared as an urban hellscape by this regime. MY city has the National Guard deployed. MY city has these idiots roaming around, terrorizing migrants, depressing tourism. These people are not here to help with crime. First of all, they are not going to the parts of the city where there IS crime — staying in the tourist areas. Secondly, they are not sending people who are trained in law enforcement. National Guard troops are trained in combating natural disasters or going to war are NOT law enforcement. Idiotically, he has them picking up trash. The irony of this is that if Congress had not cut the DC budget, DC would’ve had plenty of money to hire up and take care of that. If they were serious about crime, they would increase the DC budget so that DC could train and hire more police and mental health professionals. If they were serious about the homeless problem, they would spend their money on helping them, not terrorizing them with an armed force.

Trump is an arsonist who puts out his own fires, and declares victory. He’s created a (nearly entirely false) narrative about DC. Now, he is exploiting it to terrorize us into submission. Fuck that. DC is STRONG. We will resist.

I was at the Free DC rally in DC Saturday. I proudly waved my American flag, and, on the same staff, waved my DC flag, on the steps of the Foundry church on 16th Street on the route of the march. I will post pictures later. I want to share a group that I met up with, Refuse Fascism. They are planning a November 5th start of a push to kick Trump out of office. I do believe that 2026 elections are too late. We do not have time to wait until then to act. I urge you to review the attached video for your consideration. If this is not your cup of tea, please continue to resist in whatever way that you deem appropriate. I firmly believe that it will require all of us.
