People think Nashville is just a place for Country music, but it’s not. I’m telling you it’s not! Though I will admit my moving here from Michigan was related a bit to country music.
My ex drove a bus for a rock band and while most rock bands didn’t own their own buses then, this one did. As did every country music band no matter how podunk they were.
The band my ex worked for actually owned 3 buses and at some point, we realized we spent a lot of time here and it sure was warmer than MI, so we moved.
Now I love music except for 2 kinds, country and opera. Easy enough to avoid. The first night we got here we heard The Pretenders were in town and walked a couple blocks to see them. All kinds of cool stuff to see here.
We have so many great bands that are from here that aren’t country. The Black Keys, Paramore, Little Richard, Kings of Leon, Edwin Starr, Be Your Own Pet, JJ Cale, Annie DiRusso, Yola, T Bone Burnett, carook, Aretha Franklin, Michigander, John Hiatt, Soccer Mommy, The Allman Brothers, Haley Williams, Ashley Cleveland, Tina Turner, The New Respects.
Plus, a lot more that just didn’t make the cut today. I listen to WNXP on my computer, my car and in my house. It’s a Public Radio Station so no commercials.
