IAN: Tuesday, 9th of September, 2025: I Am Worn Out! [1]

I told you about my project for getting my rent lowered.
The work was harder than I had imagined!
Ha!
The little dog is named Itzl. As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Okay, on my Sunday, the 7th of September, I went out and picked up trash.
I spent about 5 hours.
I filled about 14 trash bags.
These were the 13-gallon kitchen sized bags.
Each time I had a bag over half full and feeling heavy, I tossed it into the nearest trash cart.
I am 70 years old.
This was nearly past my limits.
I did not get the entire apartment complex cleaned up!
Next Sunday, the 14th, I will get the rest of it caught up.
After that, it should be easy, because all I will be picking up is new trash and small bits I missed.
You see, a lot of the trash had built up over months, some of it even years.
I wish I had a video of the whole thing, a live stream, so you could see what I went through.
But after next Sunday, it will be easy from then on, seems to me.
Wel, enough of my ranting about picking up trash.
