Why Balto is a Hero and Kennedy is a Jerk [1]

In the winter of 1925, Nome, Alaska was suffering from a diphtheria epidemic and was running short of vaccine. Reports say there were only two airplanes available in Alaska, and they both had open cockpits, unusable in the blizzard.
It was decided to try to deliver the medicine 674 miles by dog sled. Balto was little regarded by his owner, who used him for pulling heavy wagons. He was not considered fast enough for racing. But a musher chose Balto for a major role in the mission.
It was a difficult trip. At one point, the serum was dropped into the snow and had to be recovered by digging with bare hands.
Balto and the other dogs on his team covered the last two legs of the journey when the team designated for the final leg was not ready.
The press and the country were fascinated with Balto. He toured the country and ultimately wound up in comfortable surroundings in Cleveland.
Balto’s service to the country is in sharp contrast to that of Robert Kennedy Jr. Kennedy is a vaccine denier. He has stores of government-purchased vaccine, but doesn’t want to give it to people. He has been sued by various medical societies.
Even Trump is tired of Kennedy.
