We continue to have more EV news than usual as consumers snap up the last bargains that come with up to $7500 off from the government. Some state incentives remain. And nothing can stop Chinese EV technology from spreading around the world. Meanwhile, we continue on the exponential part of the technology growth curve for renewables and storage, setting new records all the time, while coal, oil, and gas continue to die the Death of a Billion Cuts.

Rivian's CEO Explains What Everybody Gets Wrong About Chinese EVs
Will Chinese EVs come to America? Not in the way you think, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe said on the Plugged-In Podcast. “I think everyone should be planning for that and designing [their] technology stack around that,” he said. But the fixation on cost is all wrong, he argues. “What’s alarming, if you’re looking at the whole industry, is that the technology is much better,” he said, referring to China’s EV industry. “If I was an existing manufacturer, I’d get less hung up on the cost and more focused on ‘the cars are actually better.” Chinese firms can also develop new models in months, rather than years. Some EVs can charge at incredibly high rates. On top of all that, many outsiders have said they’re built just as solidly as German luxury cars.
Chinese cars WILL be built in the US, bypassing the punitive tariffs. Not without obstacles being put in their way, of course, but as always, we are talking about the lure of $$Real Money$$™. You can always talk to Republican businessmen about $$Real Money$$™, even if not to their politicians.

“Structural barriers” are not real barriers. They are political choices that we can undo.
x 🔌NEW: Our new study with Abacus Data finds that the reason Canadians aren't adopting clean technologies even faster isn't for a lack of interest—they are keen on them—but structural barriers that get in the way. Read our media release👇
