Well, I am between girlfriends and while I was looking I met an adorable young Haitian, she was as smart, funny and sweet as she was pretty and seemed to find me tolerable! And she had a French accent to die for. There's no fool like an old fool, but I was flattered merely to have her attention. While it lasted.
She worked at DHL and in the first week of our acquaintance the cowards there fired her out of fear of our Dear Leader, despite her legal authorization to work here. I looked up her job and it was over 40K which is firmly lower middle class in rural Indiana. She was paying taxes and social security on that, no burden to the taxpayers. She was spending most of the remainder in our economy. She went to her naturalized cousin's place and cried herself to sleep.
She then received ominous letters from la Migra as my Latino friends call it and was terrified of ending up in a camp or El Salvador. An obvious dupe of vicious anti American propaganda./s
So, thoroughly terrorized, she self deported back to Haiti! Can you imagine? Not exactly the safest, most prosperous or stable place…at least she has family there...
I am curious what @murielveux thinks of this and do any Kossacks know anything about immigration law? We saw a lawyer and I know he was a real one because he tried to charge $1500 to tell her he could do nothing. Other than cash checks apparently.
I am upset, she is beyond upset and I could really use some good advice.
