Lots of people say that they hear Trump’s deathwatch beetle clicking.

Why are death beetles called death beetles? Adults communicate with each other, and probably locate mates, by tapping their heads against wood, usually at night. Deathwatch beetles might have acquired their name during medieval times in Europe when people heard the tapping while sitting up with a sick or dying person during the night. In adults, a hood-like prothorax usually encloses the head. Larva is c-shaped with an enlarged thorax, short 2-segmented antennae, and yes, hairy 4-segmented legs. www.westernexterminator.com/...

Social media doesn’t seem to care who lives and who dies, they just want to be the first to talk about it.

When the first rumors hit, Xitter was convinced Trump was dead or dying, Bluesky was all “prove it” and “don’t threaten me with a good time”, and TruthSocial was pretending he never felt better.

The “Trump Is Dead” Rumor

Anatomy of a viral rumor about President Trump. Recently, the phrase “Trump is Dead” began trending on the social media platform X. By the next day, more than 158,000 posts had used the phrase, while 42,000 used the words "TRUMP DIED." A similar trend appeared on TikTok, with one video quickly gaining 3.5 million views. The rumors subsided after Trump was photographed on his way to play golf, although a few people, posting with apparent conviction, suggested that the figure in the image may have been a body double… Rumors never appear out of thin air; they develop organically and spread within a specific context. The backdrop for the "Trump is Dead" rumors was recent concerns over his health. Earlier this year, speculation as to his well-being grew after a photo of what appeared to be a bruised hand went viral. This fueled theories that he was sick and had been on an IV drip. When news broke in July that Trump was suffering from poor circulation in his lower limbs, causing swelling in his legs, concern escalated. Things came to a head on August 27th when Vice President J.D. Vance gave an interview in which he observed that while Trump was in excellent health, should there be a “terrible tragedy,” he felt ready to step into the role. Real cause of Trump’s ill health?

Sooner or later, Trump will die. He just will.

What if Trump dies in office? Imagine the power struggles and chaos just within the administration that would be unleashed. Donald Trump’s created a situation not uncommon to dictatorships. The dictator dies, a power vacuum ensues, and chaos reigns. Personally, I’d like to see more mainstream media coverage of this “what if” nightmare. If only to alert people to how dangerous and incompetent Trump and his minions are and what his incompetence, cunning and MAGA-news-media-feedback-loop has done to the social order, societal norms, and our democratic republic. ...All this internecine warfare will be compounded by Trump’s gutting of tens of thousands of competent, and necessary, government workers who might have saved the day with their institutional knowledge and dedication to our country and not to some, now passed, wanna-be absolutist. Add to that the Big Beautiful Bill, its ensuing deep national debt consequences and all the other ills it ushers in. Then there’s the House with the seven-person Republican majority, split in multiple factions, with a weak, Christian-nationalist speaker and no one to force the GOP vote for anything. Or, just let the Smithsonian tell the truth again.

I think I want a permanent exhibit made up of of all the exhibits and history he wants removed and a catalog of all of the damage he’s done with the future date that damage was repaired.
