A quick rundown for those who may not know about it (how to help is at the bottom) : to counter mid-decade gerrymandering underway in Texas and other Republican-led states, the heavily Democratic California legislature has sent the voters an initiative called the Election Rigging Response Act that will temporarily suspend California's non-partisan redistricting commission in favor of new maps that potentially add five seats to the Democratic side of the aisle in the U.S. House of Representatives. We'll vote on it in a special election November 4.
Very well-bankrolled Republican forces are blanketing California with mailers that out-and-out lie about the ballot initiative that Californians will begin to vote on in a matter of weeks, also known as Proposition 50. Those mailers are all the info that most Californians have. Most don't even know anything about it at all.
We have a big job ahead of us, to inform and turn out voters, and a very short time to do it.
