How publicly will Dems celebrate a death? How about you personally? [1]

The rumors surrounding the potentially serious health issues for 45 continue to swirl. There are lots of signs that something may be afoot. I am not foolish enough to make any kind of prediction about how imminent the death of 45 may be but hey, it’s a holiday morning and I am drinking my coffee and perusing DK so I’m gonna just share a bit of pondering here.
I won’t even attempt to go into all of rumors here, but the bruising on the hand, the swollen ankles, the quite notable lack of public appearances, the photos released by the White House to counter the rumors which only go to further them...all of it leads me to what I admit is ghoulish speculation.
He IS going to die someday. I honestly do not know effect that will have on our national political landscape. I will leave that for others, but I DO believe that when he dies I wonder what the national public reaction will be.
Look- Personally I am going to pour myself a couple of fingers of the best bourbon I can get my hands on and join friends in a celebration of that death. Let me rephrase that- I will join them in a celebration of the opportunity to for our nation to stop our slide into fascism and economic ruin. Trump’s death will mark a turning point of some sort for the nation.
Still...I have enough of a conscience left to note how morally bankrupt and ghoulish it feels to actually wish for the opportunity to celebrate the death of anyone. Still, overall I won’t feel any shame about feeling joy when he dies.
BUT- Let’s face it. His death may be a chance for change for at least some of the alarming large plurality of the nation that supports him. He DOES have a rock solid base of about 35% of the nation that is absolutely unwavering. He has cultivated that base by catering endlessly to their sense of persecution and victimhood at the hands of the godless woke left.
Whoever attempts to fill that power vacuum is going to seize upon public exultation about his death as proof that we are immoral ghouls who DESERVE to be deported, disenfranchised, discriminated against and deplored. They will attempt to use the inevitable public joy and relief at the death as a means to further divide the nation.
I am curious about what the official stance of the Democratic party will be or what that of individual Democratic politicians will be or should be. Should it be honest expressions of how they are feeling? Should they be cognizant of the reality that such honesty may serve to unite the MAGA base behind whoever is the successor? Or should they assume that the MAGA base is going to indulge in wallowing in victimization at the hands of the godless left that maintaining decorum in the face of his death will even be noted?
