VA Democrats, who now hold a 51-49 margin in the House of Delegates, have a chance of winning a supermajority in the elections this fall, especially if Democrats continue to overperform Harris-2024 by as much as 20 points, as they did in Iowa last week.
Largely through the efforts of Dr. Fergie Reid, Jr. Democrats are running in every Virginia House of Delegates District, an echo of Howard Dean’s 50 state strategy. Fergie’s father Dr. Fergie Reid, Sr., is a living civil rights legend who is now 100.
27 of these candidates are receiving no funding from the Democratic Party. That’s where you come in. In response to my Wednesday story, Don't let this Virginia disaster happen again, Kossacks stepped up and contributed over $1,000 to Virginia ValuePack . Others have stepped up and contributed over $3,000.
We are seeking to raise only enough funds for the VA 27 to run a basic campaign, i.e., about $5,000 each, or a total of $135,000 — not a large sum in today’s politics.
