My suggested actions for Democrats
I am 76 years old and have voted in every election (local and national) since 1971. Back in the day, I even voted for Republicans such as Edward Brooke. After all, I grew up in a middle-class staunch Republican family. But, today’s GOP is evil and I will never vote for a GOPer again.
That said, here are my suggestions for Democrats everywhere:
Contest every election. Always have a candidate in the race. All the way from town council up to president. If someone from the right (even in “non-partisan” elections) is on the ballot, then a left-of-center candidate should also be there. After all, you never know. No support (in Democrat primaries) for anyone over the age of 60. It is long past time for the Boomers and Silents to exit the stage and let the Xers and Yers take over. Feel free to pick your own cutoff age. We don’t need another Diane Feinstein last term. Focus on no more than 3 specific issues. After all, the average citizen has the attention span of a gnat and really does follow politics. Simplify the issues of focus. For example, talk prices and not inflation or tariffs. Talk about VA and Medicare and ignore Medicaid. Ignore distractions on minor issues. For example, support LG because most people know some who is gay or lesbian. Ignore the BQT. Most people do not know someone who is transgender and they think trans is weird and icky. Ignore demonized terms. If the GOP demonizes a term (CRT, WOKE, DEI, etc.) and you cannot squash the demonization within a month, then never talk about it. Don’t try to defend unpopular terms. Buy control of Sinclair [Broadcasting]. Sinclair operates 193 stations across the country in over 100 markets, covering 40% of American households. Shift the news/editorial from right-of-center to the left. Create a ‘immigrants are good’ ad campaign. This should start with a $1 billion budget. Positive stories about how recent immigrants are making America great. No politics, just happy feelings. Ad campaign about how Trumps’ actions are hurting small business. Everyone knows that big businesses will figure out how to survive. But, many small businesses are going to be destroyed. Hammer GOP scandals. Cf. Epstein. See GOP Scandals List Tie all GOPers to Trump. Dumpy is not popular. Even RealClear Politics cannot give him a positive poll number.
Feel free to critique/destroy my suggestions.
