Minus one colonel. His service in the Russian army reportedly ended abruptly in the village of Milove along the border with the Belgorod region.

x Ukrainian Defense Forces have reportedly eliminated Colonel Lebedev, commander of Russia’s 83rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 69th Division. He was leading assault operations toward Velykyi Burluk from the Belgorod region, according to operational data from the "Khortytsia" strategic group.

Things seem to be heating up in the Sumy region near Russia’s Kursk region, where Russia took several villages across the border after retaking Kursk.

x According to Russian sources, heavy fighting has erupted for the village of Oleksiivka in the Sumy region, currently still occupied by Russian forces. Russian sources complain that the situation is deteriorating due to the arrival of a significant amount of Ukrainian forces.

x ‼️ Z-channels report heavy losses and retreat of Russian Armed Forces from Kindrativka in Sumy region. ☠️ Belarusian Silovik reported the loss of almost the entire personnel of 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment. 👀 Russian voenkors also report worsening conditions in Oleksiivka.

Russia added to its Sumy offensive body count thanks to lousy intelligence. Oops.

x How do you kill an offensive by sending reinforcements? Ask Russia's smoking bike riders. Russian commanders tried to recapture Andriivka, a frontline village Kyiv had just retaken. The plot twist? They didn't know it was already fully under Ukrainian control:

Determined to regain the initiative themselves, Russian commanders immediately ordered repeated counterattacks to recapture Andriivka. However, evidently based on faulty intelligence, Russian troops appeared unaware that Ukrainian forces had already fully secured the settlement, mistakenly expecting to meet and support Russian forces on the ground. As a result, these Russian assaults quickly devolved into catastrophic failures. Geolocated footage revealed fields surrounding Andriivka littered with Russian casualties and burning motorcycles, clear evidence of the heavy price paid for their reckless and misguided attacks. Not only did these fruitless assaults drain Russian manpower, but they also achieved no real gains, compounding Russia’s operational predicament.

Ukraine also made an advance in the Zaporizhzhia area in the town of Kamianske, which is on the shore of what used to be the large reservoir on the Dnipro River before Russia destroyed the dam. Russia has made gains here recently.

x 🫡🇺🇦 Ukrainian forces have made a new advance south of Zaporizhzhia. As a result of carefully planned assault operations, the 1st assault battalion of the 210th separate assault regiment advanced in the area of Kamianske.

The IRIS-T system does quite a good job on cruise missiles.

x 🇩🇪 🇺🇦 Ukraine will receive its 8th IRIS-T air defense system from Germany. A single engagement saw IRIS-T intercept 8 Russian cruise missiles in 30 seconds with 100% accuracy, using one missile per target.

But for ballistic missiles Ukraine needs Patriots.

Any day a TOS thermobaric system is blown up is a good day.

Russia unveils its latest version of the Shahed attack drone — this one is called the Splash.

This Russian building in Tetkino in the Kursk area didn’t have enough holes in it so Ukraine fixed the problem,

Another 920 Russians.

x These are the indicative estimates of Russia’s combat losses as of July 27, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is just outrageous, but it’s also par for the course for the IOC.

x ❗️🇮🇹 IOC considering allowing athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete in 2026 Olympics in Italy. 🤔 Commission chair said a final decision has not yet been made.

Life in the city of Donetsk is so good that thousands are leaving to go tell others the good news.

Or something like that.

When a propagandist starts calling out lies, you know things have reached the advanced FUBAR stage.

x Propagandist for the so-called “DNR” Marina Kharkova says people are leaving Donetsk en masse again—no future, no water, garbage piling up in the heat. Krymskyi Veter reports.

Ukrainian drones strike a Russian dugout, but, hey, the dude totally got it on video. 👍

These guys sound like stoners.

I feel sorry for the horse. The Russian can rot in hell.

In general, reports on Russian channels about the loss of logistical horses and donkeys have been circulating for quite some time, but this appears to be the first time such an incident has been captured in a photograph.

It’s a shame to have to blow up a perfectly fine motorcycle like that.

The genie is out of the bottle. The toothpaste is out of the tube.

x Cheap military drones are everywhere now. From Ukraine to Southeast Asia, they’ve become part of modern war. Thailand dropping grenades on Cambodian targets shows just how fast this tech is spreading.

Rubio tries his best to make Trump sound tough on Russia.

Rubio said Russia is just stalling for time. "He [Trump] is not going to fall into that trap of being pulled into endless talks about talks," the US secretary of state said.

x "Trump is growing increasingly frustrated that despite having good interactions with putin on phone calls, they never lead to anything"-Rubio Trump poured buckets of shit on Europe and Biden for not talking to Putin, and now, suddenly, *Pikachu face* he realizes why.

This ditch gives Russian motorcycle assault teams the chance to practice their Evel Knievel skills.

x 👀🇺🇦 Russian channels publish the preparation of a Ukrainian ditch with a "tangle" being pulled along the bottom. ❗️The "tangle", like barbed tape, is also pulled in several rows and lines in front of and behind such a ditch.

Austria says it is thinking about NATO membership.

Putin is such a master strategist. He has turned Ukraine into an enemy of Russia for generations, drove Sweden and Finland to join NATO, begged North Korea and Iran for help, prompted Poland to arm itself to the teeth, turned his country into an international pariah, brought Russia to the brink of economic calamity, got himself indicted as a war criminal and now … Austria might join NATO. I’m not so sure that’s a good idea given Austria’s flirtation over the years with right-wing politics.

What will he do for an encore? Switzerland in NATO?

x ⚡️'The world has changed,' — Austrian official signals openness to NATO membership debate after decades of neutrality. "I am very open to having a public debate about the future of Austria's security and defense policy," Austria's Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger said.

Ukraine’s now-legendary commander of drone forces sends a cryptic message to the Russians.

x ⚡️'We assessed your attempt,' — top Ukrainian drone commander hints Russia tried to strike multiple unit leaders at once. "We assessed your attempt yesterday to hit all of us at once," Brovdi said in the Telegram post, without offering further details.

[image or embed] — The Kyiv Independent (@kyivindependent.com) July 27, 2025 at 8:39 AM

Brovdi, commander of the Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), made the revelation after holding a strategy meeting with commanders from five of Ukraine's strongest drone units: Phoenix, K-2, Madyar's Birds, Raroh, and Achilles. "We assessed your attempt yesterday to hit all of us at once," Brovdi said in the Telegram post, without offering further details. The post ended with a string of insults aimed at the Russian forces behind the alleged attack.

Indian company claims its shipment of high explosives to Russia was strictly for civilian commercial use. Uh huh. Sure thing.

x 🇮🇳‼️ Indian company Ideal Detonators Private Ltd has confirmed that it has supplied the explosive octogen (HMX) to Russia. The export is worth at least $1.4 million. In response to Reuters inquiry, company said that “the explosive was intended for industrial purposes and is for civilian use only.”

[image or embed] — The Ukrainian Review (@theukrainianreview.bsky.social) July 26, 2025 at 3:12 PM

One of the Russian companies listed in Indian customs data as receiving the compound is the explosives manufacturer Promsintez. An official at Ukraine's SBU security service has said the Russian company has ties to the military and that Ukraine launched a drone attack in April against a Promsintez-owned factory. Promsintez did not respond to a request for comment. Ideal Detonators said in an emailed response to Reuters that the material it shipped was not military grade. "The shipment ... is for industrial activity and it's a civil explosive," the company said. The U.S. government has identified HMX as "critical for Russia's war effort" and has warned financial institutions against facilitating any sales of the substance to Moscow. …. HMX is widely used in missile and torpedo warheads, rocket motors, exploding projectiles and plastic-bonded explosives for advanced military systems, according to the Pentagon's Defense Technical Information Center and related defense research programs. The compound also has some limited civilian applications in mining and other industrial activities.

I know a nearby war where this can be tested in combat conditions.

x 🇹🇷💣 Turkish engineers have developed and successfully tested the new GAZAP aviation bomb. 💥 A feature of these munitions is their thermobaric charge weighing almost a ton, which makes GAZAP the most powerful non-nuclear aerial bomb in the country’s history.

x ❗️🇹🇷Turkey has developed the GAZAP, its most powerful conventional bomb to date. The GAZAP is a 2,000-pound (907-kilogram) thermobaric aerial bomb with “enormous destructive” power and improved fragmentation.
