I have a penchant for vaguery. it is intentional. Why should an author try to button up an argument as fact and truth to sell the idea when those elements are hard to prove 100%.
Example — Harris lost the election because ______.
Yes Harris lost, and there is no doubt the issue you raise is instrumental to the loss — but can you really claim a defacto proof that your view is thee “why” or “how”. And then precious time is wasted by judgements and debates over the finer points with critics and allies.
I do find in life that general principals and formulas help more than strict codes — why? because the individual can adopt a best practice and get results that conform best to their situation and needs, it also prevents an obsession on how something did not work as well as it should or as expected or any other way of dwelling on lack.
The current administration and the debilitating loss of americ’a strengths has been accomplished using political strategies this way — a whole lot of good enough is better than a handful of perfect. All one need is “wink and a nod” bigotry and the whole project just keeps going.
So before all the haters pile on — i thought it best to preamble my post with the above explanation.
a way to look at the road ahead and how to be effective, and fulfilled at the same time is to set up a simple broad question that has many answers.
Like this
What Happens when the Cost of Control exceeds the resources available to assert control.
Now with this question we have an nearly infinite solution sets.
Before the critics hammer me — I understand that total loss of control is the ripe environment for much more lethal fascism to grab everything. but notice — this assesment itself plays into my premise — the question is expansive enough to allow for that dissection of teleology and end game result.
With this kind of question we do not need a political party. We do not need firm consensus of a political block to take back power. we don’t need a whole lot of well trained insiders. And anyone asking the question can modify where they see themselves in the solution based on local conditions.
If you find this question a call to violence — that’s only because of the path you are taking and the way you interpret it. Change your line of thought — get different results.
I invite you to think about this. When you ask yourself such a question — there is a view of how things are and what the question means to you based on your experiences and knowledge of system interactions. Can you think through how someone who isn’t you views this? if you get results that are displeasing — it is simple enough to thought experiment your way to better results.
Using this method — you could very easily begin to take actions that help move the world into the world you wish was here but is not because the political forces acting against you.
