The Business of Starving Gaza [1]

Since May, over 1,000 Gazans have died just in the process of trying to get food just to keep from starving.
On June 1st, I wrote about how aid and deliveries had been contracted out by the Israelis to an American firm called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The Washington Post reported that the organization got $100 million to start of money from an undisclosed government. The US government is donating $30 million.
Since the GHF inception, Israelis have attacked Gazans travelling to get aid in protective corridors they were told to use. The GHF's private security force has fired into crowds they accused of looting. Gazans are being led to slaughter under the guise of saving them from starvation.
The hot food kitchens like World Central Kitchens are operating at at a fraction of their previous capabilities. What the GHF delivers is packed in boxes, where people have no idea what they're getting. The boxes weigh 44 lbs, making difficult for even adults to carry.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation organization, financing and operations are under great scrutiny. Classed as a non-profit, it operates in secrecy. The United Nations and 170 NGOs and humanitarian organizations have denounced its operations as violating any attempt at humanitarian norms.
The aid does not even attempt to provide fuel, water, sanitation, shelter or health care. The boxes do not contain water, cooking fuel, medicines, blankets, baby food or baby formula.
On June 6, Reuters reported that the United States was going to send $500 million from USAID to the GHF. That never happened. On June 11th, Mike Huckabee said that GHF was partially being funded by the US but most coming from other countries, NGOs and humanitarian organizations that requested anonymity. It is this request for anonymity that is disturbing, and confusing. If you're supporting a humanitarian operation you would be proud to be part of it. GHF registered itself is non-profit foundation in Delaware and Switzerland. Switzerland said that they weren't set up to qualify according to their rules. GHF said they were shutting down the Swiss operation, and the Swiss are investigating all of this.
The whole subtext for the creation of the GHF was to keep Hamas from looting the aid. Aid workers have said that instead it was Popular Forces, an ISIS-linked anti-Hamas militia supported and armed by Israel that were behind the thefts.
Today's UNRWA report shows that malnutrition for children under five has doubled since March. Even UNRWA workers in Gaza are having trouble getting food for themselves.
The U.N. World Food Program said Monday that nearly 100,000 women and children are suffering from acute malnutrition. A third of Gaza's population is going without food for multiple days in a row.
Of the 1,054 people who were killed getting to aid since late May, 766 were killed getting to GHF distribution sites. There are only 4 of them for all of Gaza. By design, this forces people into small, overcrowded areas. The other deaths occurred around U.N. convoys by Israelis and aid sites by the GHF security.
Israelis say they are only firing warning shots, but warning shots don't kill people. Those are supposed to be up in the air. GHF contractors have said they also have fired up into the air in order to prevent stampedes, again people don't die from those, but they are.
The whole GHF operation is a front to make it look like the Israelis are allowing, and even supporting aid getting to the Gazans. The Gazans and the rest of the world looking on know this to be false.
It's been 657 days since the deadly October 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas out of Gaza. The entire population is paying a price for the attack.
Civilians are never supposed to be casualties of war, but these are happening on a daily basis, either by supposed attacks by Israel on Hamas, and now by turning the entire Gaza strip into a death camp.
It's business as usual, with no end in site.
