One additional detail I haven’t seen mentioned online is that the author of the painting was born in Berlin before immigrating to America. I grew up in a Jesus Camp family adopted by those of German heritage on both sides, my adoption has always felt very Lebensborn. I’ve been given actual Third Reich propaganda by German families in America that attended my church growing up.
The additional part of this dog whistle is that “American Progress” must come from Berlin.
Whoever runs that account is saying that success comes from an American improvement of a German original. Lots of painters to pick from, one from Berlin is intentional given the additional context.
